My friend Leah is too damn cool to not have her head made into a repetitive pattern.
Before & After -
A friend of mine was looking to save money and asked if I could edit the photos she took of her twins to give them a more professional look. This was a practice shot on her part and then I showed her what was possible.

To some people, Dr. Edith Eva Eger lost everything in Auschwitz during the Holocaust; but to Edith, she gained an understanding and compassion for others that has given her a beautiful life.
"Cooperation was the name of the game. Not competition. Not domination. Because all we had was each other then, and all we have is each other now."
Seriously, this beautiful soul. I can’t stop thinking about Edith and her story. I attended a conference in Flint, MI called the Hero Round Table. She was one of the many wonderful speakers and discusses her experience with the “Why me?” mentality, and how she learned to replace it with “What now?” Don’t play the victim, or you will always find yourself a victim. Find your inner strengths and know that even your weaknesses can become your strengths.
Personally speaking, I am deeply concerned for the way things are going in the world and I think that people feel a lack of personal power. There is a disconnect between our morality and action - we know what is right but don’t always act. I truly believe most people are good, but we are lazy and distracted. I know sometimes I feel the weight of the world and think “I am only one.” On the positive side, I am one. Imagine yourself a conscious rain drop. No one raindrop thinks it’s responsible for the flood. Think about that. You are powerful.
If you find yourself wanting more out of life, be strong and don’t let anyone define you - you know your true self within your heart. Go with it and let it help you move past any fear. It’s difficult, but know that we ALL have this capability. We are ALL in this together.
If you are reading this, let me add that whether I know you or not, I love you. We are made of the same star stuff and on this journey together. I value your perspective (whether I agree or not) and wish you the best, because all we have is each other.

A little perspective. This was shot on my phone, flying from Portland back to Chicago. That trip was what made me realized I was meant to move on from the Windy City. It will always have a place in my heart.
